NSE holidays 2026: the National Stock Exchange is closed for trading on 16 weekdays in 2026 in the equity and equity derivatives segments, as per the official NSE circulars. Markets are also closed on every Saturday and Sunday. BSE follows the same dates for equities.

Holidays falling on weekends (no weekday closure): Mahashivratri 2026-02-15 (Sun), Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramadan Eid) 2026-03-21 (Sat), Independence Day 2026-08-15 (Sat), Diwali Laxmi Pujan 2026-11-08 (Sun). Muhurat trading on Sunday, 2026-11-08 (Diwali Laxmi Pujan); timings to be notified by a separate circular (not yet announced as of 2026-10-09). Special live trading session was held on Sunday, 2026-02-01 (Union Budget day). Currency Derivatives and Debt segments (circulars NSE/CD/71962, NSE/DS/71968) have 4 more weekday holidays not in this list: 2026-02-19 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, 2026-03-19 Gudi Padwa, 2026-04-01 Annual Bank Closing, 2026-08-26 Id-E-Milad; on those days equity and F&O trade normally.
